The Year of the Rabbit

Words 'The Year of the Rabbit' on a red background with a illustration of a rabbit in the centre

I’m not sure what your thoughts are about the zodiac, and to be honest, I’m not a massive believer in it.

But I read something this morning about the Chinese zodiac, and I thought I’d share it with you.

This year is the year of the rabbit. Specifically, the water rabbit.

This means this year will be characterised by: Your ability to ingeniously adapt to different and challenging conditions because of your mindset and guiding principles.

Now, whether you believe in the zodiac or not… these seem like a pretty good way to live, to me.

First, get clear on your guiding principles.

Those values you hold near and dear, and you’re not prepared to compromise on.

That might be not going into a smelly old gym if you can get a workout in at home. Or maybe not being willing to budge on a glass of wine on Saturday night.

These are your must-haves. Lock them in first, so you can start your plan safe in the knowledge that the things you really care about and value will be honoured.

Next, set your mind to the task at hand.

Now that you’re clear on what must stay, we can get busy with the “other” stuff. Nibbles as you cook, the gin on a Wednesday night, spending time prioritising cleaning instead of a walk in the fresh air.

After that, we can get to work on all the things that need to happen for you to feel properly looked after and nourished.

After all, that’s what it’s about… isn’t it?

It seems like sometimes we forget that.
