Using the ‘good’ to justify the ‘bad’

It is always so heartening when my clients genuinely make a lasting difference to their lifestyle – whether that is through shedding the pounds or finding their inner strength and gaining in confidence.

And when someone takes the time to put down on paper exactly how they’ve achieved success through my programmes, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.

This was certainly the case when the beautiful and amazing Edel O’Neill wrote me a lovely letter detailing her personal journey to smashing her goals.

To say Edel’s letter moved me would be an understatement, and I am so truly proud of this amazing woman. Have a read below:

“Hi Tara,

“I am very glad to share my story. What the photos don’t show is what’s going on in my head!

“When I was younger I didn’t think about my weight and fitness at all.

“In my thirties and things started to change and at 47 I was the heaviest that I have been in my life (13 Stone 3 lbs).

“I just got used to looking and feeling that way and I really thought it is part of getting older. Well, that’s not actually true; I knew I was out of control with my eating, drinking and lazy lifestyle. I avoided having my photo taken because it was hard to accept.

“I am so glad that I contacted you to help me. It’s been a turning point in my life!

“You were the first person with whom I had an honest conversation about my weight. I realised that weight loss involves so much more than a quick fix. I needed to understand nutrition, food and drink triggers, coping with work and social situations and how to exercise for results. Honestly, nothing has been off limits.

“Have I been perfect? Definitely not, but I am on my way, it’s about my choices. Thank you so much for listening and helping me, Tara. I honestly couldn’t have gotten this far without you xxx

“Love and hugs,
