I was speaking to a lovely lady last week who told me that she was ready to join my programme…
I asked her what had taken her so long, as she confessed to having been thinking about this for months…
She told me that she’d always found it hard to keep on top of her weight and fitness…
But now that her life was super busy, it felt virtually impossible.
She felt concerned that if she’d struggled in her early 20s, how on earth would she manage now?
She told me, “Back in the day, my main worry was what top to wear that evening and if the lad I fancied would ring me!”
Now she had the weight of family commitments, work responsibilities and all of the other fun grown-up shit going on…
She’d convinced herself that she’d never be able to manage.
I explained that this is precisely why people reach out to a professional coach.
It’s the same as with anything we might struggle with in life…
Fixing the car… (not a feckin clue!)
Unblocking the drains… (nope)
Or tutoring our kids for maths… (don’t even)…
We invest in professional help because it’s beyond our own capabilities.
I also pointed out to her that she was also older and wiser now…
She was a Mammy, so she definitely had better organisational skills than back in the day!
And had a busy full-time job which meant her time management was probably incredible.
Getting older does have its benefits 😌
All things considered, she realised that instead of believing the cards were stacked against her…
She was very likely to succeed, after all.
✔ She knew her body really well now…
✔ Didn’t care what anyone else thought…
✔ And was desperate for something in her life that she pursued JUST for herself.
Turned out that now was actually the perfect time!
So, if you find yourself in a similar predicament…
I hope this post focuses your mind…
Take care,
Tara
