Hormones affect fat loss, there is no doubt about it. But we tend to allow ourselves to use our hormones as an excuse for excess fat gain. Every woman’s body is unique when it comes to losing fat, what works for one may not work for another. The one thing we do have in common is hormones. Hormones influence everything, from our ability to maintain muscle and lose body fat, to how we experience stress and hunger.
This client improved her hormone balance and improved body composition despite being 52 years old. She followed my 6 Week Better Bodies nutrition program and lifted weights to help her stay lean and healthy. She lost over one stone, toned up and dropped nearly 2 dress sizes.
Here are some actions she took on the program:
Eat protein
On the program I encourage basing every meal around a protein to ensure appetite is regulated, blood sugars are balanced and lean muscle is not lost.
Reduced her intake of refined carbs and junk food
She replaced her junk carbs with good ones like fruit, potatoes, vegetables, rice and porridge oats.
Strength Training
She followed my strength training program as its helps maintain lean muscle mass, whilst improving enzymes involved in fat burning. It provides that lean, toned more sculpted appearance to the body.
