I need to get something off my chest today.
One of the ladies in my VIP coaching community was shopping for something to wear on a night out.
She’s dragged half the shop into the changing rooms with her, warm and a bit too cramped for comfort.
Tops and trousers.
Skirts and blouses.
Dresses. Jumpsuits. Combinations on combinations.
…and nothing fitted right.
You know those days when everything pulls in the wrong place, and even your cuffs seem to piss you off…?
She was right in the middle of one of those. Disheartened, she sent me a message.
I was keen to jump on it, because I don’t think there’s any woman out there that hasn’t been through something like this at one time or another.
Here’s what I told her: the clothes are meant to fit your body. If they don’t, they’re not the right clothes. There’s nothing wrong with your body.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m all for losing weight, getting toned, and having a body that you feel comfortable in. I’m not saying you shouldn’t change your body if you want to.
But I AM saying that beating yourself up about clothes not fitting right should be left behind in our 20’s…
…Along with static shock inducing shell suits and sour-as-anything Hooch alcopops.
I dunno about you, but I’m ready to move into an era of treating my body right instead of treating her like the enemy.
Who’s with me?
