It’s that time of year again when anyone born with a womb feels under massive pressure…
Pressure to do all the Christmassy things (by hand) and create a Hallmark Movie style holiday…☃️
I’ve been that woman in the past…
Handmade Christmas cards…✂️
Christmas cake under the bed in the spare room by July…
Feck me, I’ve even made my own mincemeat before now…(Tara, you fool!)
BUT I’VE WISED UP, LADIES…
Now, I just cherry-pick the bits I actually ENJOY doing…
The stuff that gives me all the Christmas feels…🧑🎄
And I’ve weeded out the things that just cause the vein in my neck to throb…😅
I blame my old Granny for telling me that “Santa only comes to clean girls”…
But in what world do we feel the need to wash the outside bin to prepare for holidays?!
Or strip and remake all the feckin beds!
IYKYK.
When I sat and thought about it, I began to see a parallel between this behaviour and our health and fitness journeys…
We do these things because we always have…
Sticking to things that no longer suit the women we are today…
Just because that’s how we’ve always done it before.
Feeling under pressure to reach the endpoint in a very particular way…
When in reality, it really doesn’t matter if the process is imperfect… It’s the results that count.
For example…
You turned up at the gym in a baggy t-shirt and old leggings (you know, the ones you got bleach on?)
A woman over the way is kitted out head to toe in Gymshark…
Yet, you still smash your workout and get insane results 💪
So, the takeaway here, girls…
Buy the feckin Christmas cake ready-made… You don’t need to be Nigella.
And (unless you love peeling spuds), get them ready to rock in a foil throwaway dish…
Do whatever you need to do to extract what YOU need from the season…🎄
And the same applies to your health and well-being…
I can help you take the thinking out of your fitness journey…
In fact, consider me the fitness equivalent of a ready meal…
All done for you with none of the upset 🤣
Mother Nature has dealt women a pretty shite hand this time of year, in my opinion…
So, let’s get the help we need in the areas that REALLY count…
Lots of love,
Tara
