“The 12 weeks were up, and it was time for a truthful review…
Sure, I’d lost that brain tumour-style headache…
And some of the other side effects (like constipation) had definitely settled down…
But I was still left with chronic insomnia…
And I felt emotionally very fragile.
It had got to a point where I even had to scroll past puppies and kittens on my Instagram feed! What a saddo!
I could cope with a new crop of spots on the regular…
And my feet being so dry that they looked like a cracked desert floor…
But a future with 3 hours of sleep a night wasn’t something I felt I could settle into.
(As I said, I’d always suffered from insomnia, so it doesn’t take much to upset my sleep routine…It may well be different for you).
So, as I’ve always done when I’ve had a difficult decision to make in my life…
I sat down with a pen and paper and made a list of pros and cons…
(Yes, I know I could have done this on my laptop, but I was born in 1970 😂).
I’m not going to lie… My overall feeling was disappointment.
I’d invested hope in HRT… I didn’t see it as a miracle cure or anything…
But so many ladies find it makes them feel so much better…
I was seriously pissed off that I wasn’t one of them.
Honestly, the sleep deprivation was the deal breaker…
So the results are in girls…🥁
I’m stopping HRT with immediate effect.
I haven’t decided what to do next… That’s the God’s honest truth…
I’ve received no follow-up from my GP to ask how I’ve got on with it all (shocker 🙄)…
Girls… I wish I had a positive outcome to share with you all…
But I promised at the start that I would only write this story if I could be brutally honest…
And I have been…
Please remember, these are only MY personal experiences, and it could well be different for you…
But for me, HRT was about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike…
I know myself, and Tara would love to hear about your experiences…
Thank you so much for being part of this treacherous journey with me…
The takeaway? This, too, will pass”.
Keep smiling 💞
Claire 💋
P.S. I believe Tara has some availability to chat through getting started on her Revive & Thrive Programme.
If you’ve thinking about what it might involve, you can get the details on a zero-pressure call.
